Prayer of the
Brokenhearted

It was around midnight when I wrote this song one evening.  It was during a time in my life when I truly was able to grieve over my divorce.  For many years I had let hope keep me from grieving the loss.  At this very moment I felt the pain that had been stored up for 6 years.  I cried out to the Holy Spirit, and well, the song represents what was in my heart.

Each and every one of us has been hurt at some point in our lives.  It may be divorce, rejection or betrayal of a friend, death of a loved one, any disappointment leaves pain behind.  There is such a peace when you give it to the Holy Spirit our great counselor.  He is the one that can take our pain and turn it into something meaningful.

Is there hurt in your life that you have shoved back and stored up?  Take it to the Great Counselor.  It's Free!  I want to encourage you to pray this prayer and let Him give you beauty for ashes.

Come, Holy Spirit, heal my broken heart.
Gently piece together, all things that have fallen apart.
Take me to a quiet place, where there's only you and I
no pain or disappointment, not even a final cry.

Take me to a place in you
Where my heart can rest anew
Heal me, Lord  heal me.

Remind me of all you've promised, to bless abundantly.
Take me to a new season a higher place in thee.
Show me things that are important, throw away the rest.
For you are the only one, who knows what is best.

Take me to a place in you
Where my heart can rest anew
Heal me, Lord  heal me.

Quiet my mind from morning, on through into the night;
Until I have your full Glory in my very sight.
Keep me from seeing only me, put my eyes on others;
Use my pain that I may reach out to all sisters and brothers.

Take me to a place in you
Where my heart can rest anew
Heal me, Lord  heal me.

Precious Holy Spirit, do what you do best;
Take my time of sorrow turn it into something blessed.
Make my life a picture, of your true and divine love,
A glimpse of all you have to give, your healing from above.

Take me to a place in you
Where my heart can rest anew
Heal me, Lord  heal me.
Heal me,Yes! heal me.

The Lord did heal me, and now has given me someone who loves me more than I could ever ask.  My children and I are blessed by a man named Owen and we were married on April 27th, 2002.  We would appreciate your prayers that our family will be all that God has planned.
Thank You.

These pages were prayerfully made and I am thankful for God's leading
and that "He is still working on me."  being confident of this,  that he who has begun
a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.
